Everything is made with ramen sweat and love: the signature pork broth takes 24 hours to craft, the chicken broth more than 9 hours.
“When cooking ramen, you need passion and patience in order to create a piece of art.”
When Founder of AGU, Hisashi "Teddy" Uehara opened the first location at the Saint Louis Alumni Association in 2013, its gourmet ramen, made with fresh ingredients, care and lots of time, garnered instant fans across the island. AGU quickly became a Hawaiian haven for Japanese comfort food with Oahu locations from Honolulu to Kapolei. Since then, our vision of spreading the ramen culture worldwide has expanded to Houston, Dallas, Texas and Seoul, Korea.
Today, AGU remains as popular as ever, with 6 locations in Hawaii and 4 in Texas and one in Korea, that are opened in just four years’ time.
Hisashi named his premier ramen bistros, “AGU” which means "fellowship" or "best friends" in Miyako, his native Okinawa dialect.
